An additional two individuals have been arrested related to a theft at Heathrow Airport where 21 people sustained injuries by what is thought to be an irritant spray, according to police.
A man, 24, was taken into custody in the Lambeth area for suspected robbery and assault and a 23-year-old woman was detained on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery. They both are still being held, authorities confirmed.
The arrests follow a probe into an attack at the multi-storey car park at Heathrow's Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Before the attack, two women were robbed of their suitcases after getting out of a parking garage elevator.
A three-year-old girl was one of the those hurt in the event. Five people were taken to the hospital for treatment and have since been released.
Officers detained a man in his thirties for suspected robbery and assault near the scene. He was subsequently released pending further inquiries as the investigation proceeds.
Authorities were alerted at approximately 8:10 in the morning GMT after reports came in regarding a number of people injured by an irritating chemical thought to be an irritant spray.
The assault - an event that authorities stated was a standalone incident and not considered an act of terror - caused train delays and the temporary shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park briefly.
